The lively sound of festival music echoed through the streets of Otaru as the 60th Otaru Shiomatsuri Festival lit up the town this summer.

At Taisho Glass, staff at our main store and every branch dressed in their favorite yukata to welcome guests in true festival spirit. Surrounded by the energy only a port town like Otaru can offer, we spent a few unforgettable days soaking in the sights of yukata-clad visitors and the buzz of the festival.

The Otaru Shiomatsuri Festival is a cherished local tradition, held each year to give thanks for Otaru's fishing industry and its long history as a port. Marking its 60th year, the festival once again filled the streets with smiling faces in yukata and happi coats.

To everyone who stopped by Taisho Glass amid the festival crowds, thank you so much for visiting. We hope this summer moment becomes one more happy memory from your trip to Otaru.

We look forward to seeing you again next year, amid the lively spirit of the festival.

Taisho Glass, Otaru
